The Courage Classic is coming up very fast. This very weekend in point of fact. I am still taking donations for the ride at http://www.firstgiving.com/BikerMikey2007 or in person. I head out on Saturday.
I did the Tour de Peaks this last weekend and had a fabulous ride. This is a great ride I did not see any support vehicles on the road, that I could identify at least. A really beautiful area to ride and the first 32 miles had almost 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Right after the rest stop it started raining. Then it started pouring a little later. My shoes filled up with water, causing lots of spinning mass for my feet, and a very uncomfortable ride. I should have brought my rain gear, then it would not have rained. I was all my fault it rained. The sun came out just before the end of the ride to taunt me to start the second half, but I didn’t fall for it. Here are the few pix I took.

This is my trusty steed for this ride and the Courage Classic this year. I just upgraded it all to 10 speed Dura-Ace with a compact double crankset. Nice climber next will be the wheels.

This is a Rivendell Bleriot. This is a really nice bike. The person in the foreground is the rider/owner.

The start of the ride is out there. Good thing I had those mudders on my Echo… Wait no I don’t! I almost high centered getting out here.
Cool a bicycle kinda.
The road ahead, I hope I am going in the right direction. Sometimes it’s a little hard to know you are on the right path with this ride.
Back there was an old bridge, someone going in the other direction popped a tire on one of the concrete seams.
Man that is one VERY VERY big planter… I guess it is a water tank with a whole lotta weeds on top.
Woot, riders coming.
Rest stop. I REALLY needed to rest.
Saw the riders of this on the road, some nice eye candy on the back of this one. I’d like to try a tandem bike with Steve sometime.
This Lemond was following the tandem, I like these bikes. Last time I test road one I think they just did steel frames way back in 1999 or 2000.
Mine is not the only Klein on the ride. The guy riding this is pretty darn old, could be me some day.
Some of the riders and a few rides. I think 524 there was on the back of the tandem bike.
More riders and rides…

It had been raining since my last picture quite a bit, my feet were swimming and starting to prune. This give you an idea of what I had to deal with.
