Here I am enjoying the comfort and warmth of the Cle Ellum Travelers Inn. The day started with rain pouring down on my drive up to the start. I eaven saw what looked like frozen rain hitting the windscreen, not a good sign. I found a very long line at check in, they really have to do something different next year.
I was soaked to the bone in no time at all, cold and miserable. Otherwise the ride was uneventful for a change, thanks to my Specialized Armadillo tires. Zero flats the first day but I saw a whole bunch of them on the ride. There were several spots with piles of broken glass, right in the middle of the shoulder, almost unavoidable at times. Very strange.
My feet never dried out and were cold all day, I should have worn my woolly socks. I was really happy to hop into a hot shower at then end of this day. I did find I had forgotten a number of items like my card reader to get the pictures off my camera to post online, pictures should get posted after the ride. I also forgot my toothbrush but not my toothpaste go figure.
All in all a very good day on the bike. The spaghetti lunch was the best ever, and this ride is famous for it’s food.
