Day six of our odyssey? part 2

[cpg_album:10]
We went to the Fellini coffebar.

Then we went on another explore, yesterday we stuck to Shattuck Ave mostly, this time we wen’t up Telegraph Ave from the University and snapped some pics.

We ate at an Organic Raw Foods place called, Cafe Gratitude. Great food even for us carnivores, just take it easy on the strange drinks. I had an “I AM EXCITED Fresh cucumber juice with Himalayan crystal salt sole.” that was a little much for my carnivorous system. Bummer. These guys have a very entertaining menu see for yourself. My “Live” “Pizza”, called “I AM SENSATIONAL pesto pizza – Fresh basil almond pesto sauce and olive tapenade.” was quite a treat. The desert was Marvelous (Marvelous done in a deep tone and drawn out as done in that 7-up commercial) it was not on the menu but was a “Banana Cream Pie”. Worth the trip on it’s own. I should have taken some home.

We found out what Jitensha Studio is. It’s “a different kind of bike shop” as the site opening suggests. Very cool little shop. If I could still ride a racing geometry bikes these would be awesome. More to follow…

Day five of our odyssey…

Monday, May 29th, 2006

We went to our favorite place for breakfast and found out that they are only open for dinner during the week. We found a place called Udupi Palace the food was very good, almost as good as Tacoma’s Gateway to India.

Then we stopped at the coolest bicycle maker Rivendell Bicycle Works, and spending a bunch of not so disposable income, Steve took some pictures for me while I was otherwise occupied View Album. I bought one of these lovely machines a while back from my now favorite bike shop Aaron’s Bicycle Repair in West Seattle.

We were cruising around looking for Mt. Diablo and could not find it, figures.

So we shot back to Berkeley, since we knew it was cool and easy to find. Walked around town and the University a bit and shot some electronic film.

Yet another day of driving…

[cpg_fix_image:99,t]
Mini Drive, cool… I wish I was driving a Mini, but my Toyota Echo is pretty cool when I speed past the fuel pumps.

Third day of our vacation…

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

Another full day of driving…
We stopped at Fellini Restaurant an awesome place with a good selection for my sweetie.

[cpg_album:6,12]
Then we bounced out to the Winchester Mystery House which is a cool tourist trap based on the Mansion of a woman that might have been a little off.

Second day of our vacation…

[cpg_album:5]
We ran into Applegate Trail Interpretive Center along the Applegate trail, the southern route of the Oregon Trail, at Grave Creek named apparently because it is the grave site for a young pioneer. There we met Doodie the dog and some old wagon wheels.

Then we got a fairly cool picture of Mt. Shasta, I think, as we were speeding down the freeway in a horrible crosswind.

Then we found and made reservations to stay later at the Railroad Park Resort, very cool you stay in old railroad cars, updated with all the amenities, and can even eat in one.

My new Samsung Digimax L85 camera seems to be working pretty darn good, thanks to some help from Todd at Robi’s Camera in Lakewood WA. thanks Todd!
